Let's talk Sustainabili-Tea

Leading the way with the way they’ve reduced their impact on plastic consumption is PG Tips. So what’s the tea?

🫖 The brand are now 100% plant based by going “completely naked” with plastic removed from all their boxes back in 2021.

🫖 PG was the first major tea brand to switch to bio-degradable corn-starch teabags back in 2018 and these can now be found across the entire range.

🫖 PG Tips launched the “have you made the switch” ad campaign back in 2020 to raise awareness of the plastic consumption issue.

🫖Their tea blending facility in Manchester runs on 100% renewable energy.

🫖They’ve been certified by the Rainforest alliance for over 10 years and were the first tea brand to carry the seal.

🫖 They’ve saved 3010 tonnes of plastic through the plastic switch.

🫖 Since 2010 they have planted 1.3 million trees.

The big changes for the brand came about following Unilever initiating a full strategic review of its global tea business in January 2020.

We love to see such a household name leading the way and putting our planet and the ever growing eco-conscious consumer’s wants at the heart of what they’re doing.
